What a Floral Arch Adds

One of our favorite things to design is a unique arch or chuppah which reflects your style as a couple, establishes the vibe of your wedding, and cultivates the atmosphere you would like to create for your guests. Recent trends have shown more and more couples are opting to also have their ceremony at their reception venue. Venues are incredibly accommodating as they either offer rooms that can be flipped from ceremony to reception or offer gorgeous specifically designated ceremony spaces. These spaces are beautiful to begin with but can easily be dressed up and customized with decor that fits your own unique style and vibe.

Oftentimes, your ceremony will be in your reception room and then flipped (chairs and tables moved in) for your reception later on. One of our favorite ways to differentiate between the two different experiences in the same room is by adding a special backdrop for your ceremony. An arch is a stunning statement installation to frame your ceremony pictures. Whether it’s asymmetrical, full, moon, circle, a full chuppah, wooden, lucite, copper, wrought iron, silver, gold– there are so many shapes and materials available even before any consideration goes into the flowers adorning it. The flowers then also reflect your desired vibe and create a one-of-a-kind installation special to you as a couple.

If you would like to get the most bang for your buck… and I mean, who wouldn’t? One of our favorite most cost-effective tips is repurposing the ceremony florals for your reception design. An arch is a great piece to utilize in that the flowers can be taken off of your arch and then used across your sweetheart table or on the floor to create a whole new look for your reception. The flowers can also be placed across the floor of the band, in window sills, along the bar, going up a staircase, along a statement fireplace mantel…the options can be endless! This allows you to save money instead of ordering completely new pieces for a specialty spot in your reception.

Disclaimer: The ability to repurpose depends on the size, scale, and type of flowers used in a ceremony piece. The season also determines whether flowers can be repurposed (outdoor ceremony flowers sitting outside in the hot summer sun won’t likely be viable to be repurposed later in the day). But we do our best to come up with creative solutions to repurpose and use your flowers and budget in the best way possible and to help you get everything you are looking for!

An arch is a special addition to your design and one of our favorite ways to showcase your individual personality and style as a couple with unique shapes, colors, textures, and varieties of flowers! The sky's the limit for creating these stunning installations. Ceremony or sweetheart table backdrop (or both), photo-op setup, or entrance design– an arch is a grand statement piece that is sure to be an unforgettable component of your design.
